Concepts of Cloud Computing

The Yoruba language will feature sometimes in my blogs. This is to enable the native speakers of the language to gain from my wealth of knowledge.

THE CONCEPT OF CLOUD COMPUTING

Cloud computing is the delivery of computing services over the Internet on a pay-as-you-go basis. Cloud computing is an avenue that allows users to access computing resources over the internet, such as servers, storage, applications, and services. Instead of buying, owning, and maintaining physical data centers and servers, you can access technology services through the Internet.

Organizations of every type, size, and industry are using the cloud for a wide cases such as data backup, disaster recovery, email, virtual desktops, software development and testing, big data analytics, and customer-facing web applications.

It is using the resources of cloud providers (Amazon, Microsoft, Google) for your day-to-day requirements. Cloud computing offers many benefits, including cost savings, increased productivity, and access to a wide range of services and applications. Cloud computing has transformed the way businesses operate, enabling them to focus on their core competencies while leaving the infrastructure and management of computing resources to cloud service providers.

It provides a flexible and scalable infrastructure, where users can quickly provision and de-provision resources as needed, allowing them to adapt to changing business requirements. Cloud computing offers many benefits, including cost savings, increased productivity, and access to a wide range of services and applications. It has transformed the way businesses operate, enabling them to focus on their core competencies while leaving the infrastructure and management of computing resources to cloud service providers.

Among the benefits of Cloud computing include:

  • Scalability

  • Elasticity

  • Governance

  • High availability

  • Manageability

  • Predictability

  • Security

Types of Cloud Computing

There are mainly 3 types of cloud computing available today,

  1. Public Cloud

  2. Private Cloud

  3. Hybrid Cloud
